Standard Supported Shafts
Standard supported shafts supplied assembled with aluminum, hard-chromed steel or stainless steel shaft options. Request a quote →
Standard supported shafts combine a precision linear shaft with a continuous aluminum support rail for stable linear plain-bearing movement. They are supplied assembled, which simplifies installation and helps maintain alignment over the full supported length.

Standard Supported Shafts for Linear Motion
A continuous support reduces shaft deflection and helps the bearing run smoothly across the stroke. In addition, the assembled design removes the need to align and fasten the shaft and rail separately at the machine.
Standard supported shafts are available with hard-anodized aluminum, hard-chromed C45 steel or hardened 304 stainless steel shafts. The maximum support length is 2500 mm, and diameters range from 12 to 30 mm.
Shaft Materials and Surface Options
Aluminum shafts offer low weight and good corrosion resistance when hard anodized. C45 steel provides a cost-effective, rigid option with a hard-chromed running surface. Meanwhile, 304 stainless steel is suitable for wet or corrosive environments.
The support profile, hole pattern and shaft grade should be selected together. For example, a long stroke may need a larger diameter to control deflection, while a compact assembly may prioritize a lower profile and reduced weight.
- Aluminum shaft, hard anodized
- C45 steel shaft, hard chromed
- 304 stainless steel shaft, hardened
- Shaft and support supplied assembled
- Maximum support length: 2500 mm
Quality Control and Delivery
Inspection is planned around the shaft diameter, straightness, surface condition and support interface. Our process follows ISO 9001 quality management principles. For critical fits, the CNC machining tolerances guide explains how to separate functional requirements from general drawing tolerances.
